Hello Friends… Do you have a friend you’d love to ‘knock out’? Lol! NO… I’m not talking literally! Here’s a beauty that could possibly knock someone off their feet! I’ve been thinking it might be a great gag gift to give the recipient some Dollar Tree sunglasses prior to opening this card’s envelope, what do you think? 😉

The colors used here, Poppy Parade, Mango Melody, and Olive Green were inspired by the Splitcoaststampers Tuesday’s Color Challenge. I’ve been honored in having been asked to be a guest designer for the month of June. Here’s the first of two card’s I created for this weeks challenge!

It may appear a lot of coloring has taken place on this card… but that would be a negative! The sunflowers were stamped in Memento Black ink on Mango Melody cardstock followed with the sponging of Poppy Parade ink. Is that a ‘POP’ of color or what?

This Basic Black trifold card base has been hand trimmed around the adhered sunflowers/leaves that were stamped and die cut on Mango Melody and Old Olive cardstock. The portion of the flowers that were trimmed off the outside edges of the card were adhered to the top and bottom of the card. I didn’t waste any prettiness!

The Mango Melody background was embossed using the new ‘Tasteful Textile’ embossing folder and the belly band was a 1″ strip of Basic Black. The sentiment used is from the stamp set ‘So Sentimental’ and was stamped in Versa Mark followed by heat embossing white embossing powder. The die set used to cut out the sentiment is from ‘Stitched So Sweetly Dies’.

I cut two additional sunflowers from Whisper White cardstock for the inside of the card. I thought it necessary to provide a light colored background for the cards message and signature. These panels were placed on the side panels making the signature invisible from the card’s front while being closed.
