Hello Friends… Fall is in the air with my creation today! Barbara selected some beautiful fall colors for this weeks color challenge, Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler and Garden Green, with the dessert option, Autumn! I think I fulfilled the challenge beautifully with my pumpkin design that was inspired by the wire pumpkin sitting next to it! Please tell me what you think, yea or nay!

This design features a 3D pumpkin that can easily be laid flat for easy and convenient mailing.

Cut a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Garden Green card base, score at 4 1/4. Fold the card on the score line and burnish the fold.

Cut a 4 x 5 1/4 Very Vanilla panel, emboss the panel using the Pinewood Plank embossing folder. Lightly run a Crumb Cake ink pad over the embossed area to give a little color and dimension. Adhere the panel to the card base front.

Use the two largest circle dies from the die set Stitched Shapes to create the pumpkin. Die cut four circles, fold each in the center, and adhere three of the halves together leaving ‘one halve on each side open‘. These halves need to remain open so they can be adhered to the plaid circle in the next step.

Cut a plaid circle using the largest circle die from the set ‘Stitched Shapes’. Adhere the open halves on each side of the die cut pumpkin to the plaid circle.

Stamp ‘two‘ flowers from ‘Positive Thoughts’ in Cherry Cobbler ink on a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. Use the matching flower die from the die set ‘Nature’s Thoughts Dies’, cut out both flowers. Use the flower center die to cut two flower centers from Pumpkin Pie cardstock. Use a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend to color the little slits in the flower centers. Adhere the centers to both flowers using a dimensional for one and none for the other (as this flower is going on the inside of the card).

Cut a pumpkin stem by hand from Garden Green. Cut two 1/8 strips from Garden Green cardstock to create the curly cues. Note: Use a bone folder to loosen up the fibers of the cardstock, then wrap the strips around a pencil to create the curly cue. Adhere all three items to the pumpkin.

Stamp ‘two‘ sets of leaves using the stamp set ‘To a Wild Rose’ on a scrap piece of Very Vanilla in Memento Black ink. Use the coordinating stamp to fill in the inside of the leaves with Garden Green ink. Hand cut and adhere leaves to both flowers, one for the card front and the other for the inside.

Die cut four Cherry Cobbler sprigs using the die from ‘Forever Flourishing Dies’. Adhere all four sprigs to the flower that’s going to be adhered to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment from ‘To a Wild Rose’ on Very Vanilla using all three colors of ink, starting with Pumpkin Pie, followed by dabbing Garden Green, and Cherry Cobbler inks. Stamp the words ‘And Grateful’ in Garden Green. Die cut the sentiment using a rectangle from the set ‘Stitched Rectangles’.

Adhere the pumpkin, the assembled bouquet, and sentiment to the card front.

Cut a 4 x 5 1/4 Very Vanilla panel. Adhere the panel to the inside of the card. Cut a 5/8 x 5 1/4 Garden Green strip and adhere to the inside of the card 1/4 from the right inside edge. Cut a 1/2 x 5 1/4 plaid strip and adhere to the Garden Green matte strip. Adhere the remaining flower and leaf over the plaid strip for the finishing touch.
