Hello Friends! It was just a week ago the weather here in Kansas went crazy, we had a record low for early September! Monday recorded a normal high of 97 degree’s followed by Tuesday, a record breaking low of 48 degrees, it was a shocker to the ole’ bod! I thought winter was here but thankfully it’s back to normal now!

While visiting not too long ago, my grandson pilfered through some cards I had created, I chuckled when he requested I give him a particular card with a horse for his birthday. It wasn’t a birthday card but since he took a liking to it, I naturally replied, “well of course I can give it to you”. With that being said, he received two birthday cards, the one he requested and the other that you see posted below. He’s loves playing baseball and ask for various baseball items for his birthday, with this in mind, I thought this card would be more fitting for my lil’ man’s 7th birthday! (chuckle)

The pattern pictured below is hand drawn using a cap on the web as a guide. It’s been drawn to scale, an A2 card size, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. Cut a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Mossy Meadow card base, score at 4 1/4. Hand cut all the pattern pieces including the cap. Trace the entire cap pattern with the exception of 1/2″ in the button area onto the card base. The button area trace lines should run off the card’s fold, as this will be left untrimmed to keep the back of the card intact with the front. Hand cut the cap following the trace lines.

Trace and cut the pieces from Mossy Meadow and Whisper White cardstock. Adhere the pieces into their appropriate area’s. Create stitch lines following the completed card as a guide. The number 7 is from the retired stamp set ‘Memorable Moments’ and was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink. The Happy Birthday sentiment from ‘Zany Zebras’ was stamped in Versamark ink and heat embossed using White embossing powder.
