Hello Friends… Unfortunately COVID has really restricted my shopping in thrift stores the past few months, teehee… But despite COVID, with sanitizer in hand and my glamorous mask, I ventured to a local store and found this adorable mouse sitting on ‘his’ cheese slice! The mojo went wild… Yes, I’ve got to create a block of cheese for my lil’ mouse from ‘Special Someone’ to nibble on. So here we are…

This cheese slice is a full sized card with a partial front flap, exposing the top of the inside when closed. My cheese slice was a lot for one mouse to eat so I created three mice to share the wealth. If you look closely the mouse on the top left has been stamped as a mirror image. This was done by stamping the image on a piece of plain rubber and transferring the ink to a piece of cardstock.

Cut a card base from Daffodil Delight measuring 4 1/4 x 11, score at 5 1/2. Fold on the score line and burnish the fold.

On a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of copy paper, free hand a simple cheese wedge pattern. Cut the pattern out and trace your pattern onto the Daffodil Delight card base. With the card closed cut both thickness’ to the trace line. To create the partial front flap, cut the ‘pattern’ top off, trace only the top portion of the pattern TO THE CARD FRONT AND TRIM ONLY THE TOP PORTION OF THE CARD FRONT OFF.

Create holes in the cheese slice by using a 1/2 Circle Punch and a 3/4 Circle punch, randomly punch a few half circles along the outside edge of the card base. Punch a 1/2 circle and a 3/4 circle into two pieces of scrap cardstock to create a mask for the sponged holes. Using the masks you just created sponge the circles onto the card base front and inside top, using Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, and a light dab of Pumpkin Pie ink. The smaller dots were created by using a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Blend, a Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Marker would work better due to the bleed through with the Stampin’ Blend. Sponge along the edges of the card base to add dimension in Crushed Curry ink.

Stamp three mice in Memento Black ink on a scrap of Whisper White cardstock and another mouse using the mirror image technique. Use Smoky Slate and Rococo Rose (light) Stampin’ Blends to color the mice. Hand cut all four mice. Adhere two mice together creating a back that is finished. This is for the top left mouse who’s back is exposed when the card is open, this will give him a finished backside (no pun intended) when the cards front flap is open. Cut teeny tiny slices of cheese to adhere to two the hands of each mouse.

Use the sentiment stamp from ‘Nothing’s Better Than’ to stamp onto a 1/2 x 1 5/8 Basic Black in Versamark ink, heat emboss using White embossing powder. Stamp the sentiment ‘Enjoy’ from ‘Pampered Pets’ onto a 1/2 x 7/8 Basic Black in Versamark ink, heat emboss using White embossing powder. Cut two Whisper White mattes measuring 5 /8 x 1 3/4 and the other at 5/8 x 1. Stack and adhere both sentiments to their corresponding matte.

Die cut two ‘&’ symbols in Whisper White and Basic Black using the ‘Well Written’ dies. Adhere the Whisper White one to shadow the Basic Black symbol. Adhere all three sentiments to card front by using dimensionals.

Adhere the three mice to the card front using dimensionals.

To complete the inside of the card, stamp the sentiment from ‘Pampered Pets’ in Memento Black ink.
