Hello Friends… my ‘She Shed Tornado Shed’ is once again blooming with sunflowers! A group of old crafting friends I get together with every Monday gave each of us a challenge to create a slimline card. I’m thinking yeah, I’m in! It’s a good thing I like a challenges, this one really put me to the test. TeeHee! When you’re accustom to creating only A2 sized cards, it was an eye opener, I’m thinking what am I going to do with all this extra space? My natural instinct told me to grab the largest stamp image I have… yes, that’s exactly what I did, ‘Celebrate Sunflower’, it worked perfectly!

In my opinion it turned out to be a beauty, however, I have to admit it took me a lot longer to create than I thought it would!

As far the difficulty level for this card, I would classify this one for the avid crafter who likes to spend a little time on their creations. This card has detailed coloring on all the flower/leaf components including the punched daisies, heat embossing, and dry embossing as well.

The Whisper White base card measures 7 7/8 x 9 1/4 and is scored at 3 15/16th. The folded card fits nicely into a #10 business envelope that measures 4 1/8 x 9 1/2. The Buffalo Check stamp was stamped in Versa Mark ink on a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Basic Black panel followed by heat embossing with White embossing powder. The Buffalo Check panel is then cut into three parts, measuring 3 15/16 x 1 1/2 and 3 15/ 16 x 2 1/4, both go to the front of the card and the remainder 3 7/8 x 1 1/2 goes to the inside. It’s not pictured well, but the Basic Black background panel measuring 3 15/16 x 4 3/4 is embossed using the Greenery embossing folder. In the upper right corner of the Basic Black panel stamp the sentiment in Versa Mark and heat emboss using White embossing powder. All the flowers and leaves, including the medium punched daisies have been colored or shaded using Stampin’ Blends. The center of the daisies have been created by using an 1/2″ circle punch and dry embossed using the Hammered Metal 3D embossing folder. A 1/4″ scalloped trim in Basic Black was added to the upper and lower edges of the 3 15/16 x 4 3/4 Greenery embossed panel. Create a flower arrangement to your liking and adhere into place.

Pictured below is the how I finished the inside of the card. I always try to use my leftovers remnants if possible somewhere on the inside of the card. I’m lazy, lol, that way the inside matches the outside but doesn’t involve a lot of work in making it pretty. I had an extra stamped and colored sunflower I didn’t use on the front so I attached it to the remnant of the Buffalo Check that measured approximately 1 1/2″ to the inside. The scallop trim was leftover from the front as well and was added to the top and bottom of the Buffalo Check strip. Easy Peasy…
