Hello Friends… Is there such a thing as a masculine floral card? Unfortunately and sadly said, even men have flowers sent in their honor to funerals. I didn’t begin creating this card with this in mind but once it was completed I thought it had beauty yet it sustained a masculine touch. I don’t know about you but I find sympathy cards very difficult to create, especially for a man. This isn’t taking in the account of the added heartache of having to create one to begin with. Maybe it’s more difficult for me because I’m wanting to put forth my best work in honor of the one who’s passed. Should you be interested in recreating, it’s my hopes it’s for a festive reason and not a sad one.

This card was created using the new stamp/die bundle ‘Prized Peony’. Stampin’ Up created a beautiful suite of matching products including Designer Series Paper in a color medley of Petal Pink and Gray Granite. Take a look on pages 82-84 in the 2020-21 Annual catalog to view all the offerings, it is truly gorgeous!

The base card is Very Vanilla with two scalloped accent strips in Cinnamon Cider bordering each side of the tent style card front. To create the weathered textured look on the Very Vanilla center panel, it was embossed using the new ‘Old World’ embossing folder. The geometric design behind the peony is a stamp image that has been randomly stamped on a Very Vanilla panel and then followed by the coloring of a few diamonds using Stampin’ Blends.
