Music From the Heart

Hello Friends… Here’s the first of two cards I created for the shoe box swap I participated in while attending our team Stampin’ Up retreat in Texas. This stamp set is called ‘Music From the Heart’ and came out in the January – June Mini Catalog. I love music so this stamp set was a must have in my book! I hope you like what you see and I’d love to hear a comment of what you think.

Measurements:

• 10 1/2 x 4 1/4 Basic Black, scored at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2
• 4 x 4 Real Red, Real Red scrap, (2) 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 Whisper White, 2 1/4 x 3 Whisper White, 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 Basic Black

Instructions:

1. Fold card base on score lines.
2. Using the 2 1/2 circle die, cut circle by centering evenly over the score line on the short flap.
3. Using Momento Black, stamp the piano in the lower right corner of the 3 1/4 x 3 1/4 Whisper White, color the piano in by using the Basic Black marker. Stamp the sentiment to the left of the piano in Momento Black.
4. Stamp the treble clef sign in Momento Black on the 2 1/4 x 3 Whisper White. Color in the heart using the Real Red marker. Die cut the circle by using the 1 7/8″ circle. On the remaining piece of Whisper White, stamp the bird in Momento Black ink. Stamp small heart in Real Red next to the bird’s beak. Use the 1″ punch to cut the bird/heart out.
5. Using Whipser White ink, stamp the bar lines across the top flap.
6. Using Momento Black ink, place the note stamp (with the heart) in the lower right corner of the ‘second’ piece of 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 Whisper White. Color in the heart using the Real Red marker.
7. Using Momento Black ink, stamp only the heart (from the piano) on the scrap of Real Red, hand cut heart, adhere by paper piecing to the piano’s heart.
8. Using the 1 3/4 scalloped circle die cut the 2 1/2 x 2 1/2 Basic Black. Using 1 1/4 scalloped circle die cut the scrap of Real Red.
9. Adhere the 4 x 4 Real Red to the bottom front flap.
10. Adhere the stamped piano/sentiment image onto the Real Red.
11. Adhere the treble clef sign to the Basic Black scalloped circle. Close top flap and adhere centering it the open hole.
12. Adhere the circle with the bird to the Real Red scalloped circle. Close card completely, using a dimensional (place on the lower half of circle), place it just below the closed flap. This will keep the card top closed.
13. Open card and adhere the second 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 Whisper White to the inside of card.
14. Using the die from Stitched Be Mine, cut a few hearts from the Real Red scrap and embellish the card’s top flap by placing them randomly.
15. Adhere a rhinestone to the treble clef sign for the finishing touch.
