Positive Thoughts (Suite 2)

Hello Friends from Kansas! It would be nice to think that winter is over and spring is here, but living and saying that in Kansas would be pure luck, as today could be 70 and tomorrow freezing.

I’m happy to say I’ve succeeded in completing the second suite of tutorials for Positive Thoughts. Let me know what you think… I’m thinking they turned out beautifully only using Gold Foil and Whisper White. Thank you for taking a peek!

Positive Thoughts

(Gold Foil and Whisper White)

Card 1

Supplies:

Measurements:

Whisper White card base 11 x 4 ¼ score at 5 ½
Whisper White 3 ½ x 2 1/8, Whisper White 3 ¼ x ¾, Whisper White 3 ½ x 3 ½, Gold Foil 3 ¾ x 2 3/8, Gold Foil 3 ¾ x 1

Instructions:

Fold card base at score line.
Place only the front half of the card base in the Subtle 3D embossing folder, run through the Big Shot.
Using the Stitched Rectangle Dies select the 5^th from the largest rectangle, it measures approx. 3 ½ x 2 1/8. Together run the Gold Foil and die through the Big Shot. Next, select the Stitched Nested Die that is next to the smallest, it measures approx. 2 x 1 1/8, place it in the center of the Gold Foil and run through the Big Shot, repeat this process on both sides of center cutout. It’s a tight fit and there’s not much room for error. This happened to be a negative I used when designing these cards… DO NOT throw away the pieces you just cut out, you’re going to be using them later.
Place the Gold Foil over the 3 ½ x 2 3/8 Whisper White, do not adhere. Using Versa Mark ink, stamp the feather making sure its centered in each cutout, remove Gold Foil and heat emboss stamped images with Gold Embossing Powder.
Using Versa Mark ink, stamp the flower and leaf sprig on the 3 ½ x 3 ½ Whisper White, heat emboss stamped images with Gold Embossing Powder. Using the Nature’s Thoughts dies, cut out both, the flower and leaf sprig.
Using Versa Mark ink, stamp sentiment on the 3 ¼ x ¾ Whisper White strip, heat emboss stamped images with Gold Embossing Powder.
Adhere the stamped feathers behind the Gold Foil frame. Trim with paper snips if there’s any of the white showing. Add dimensionals to the back and attach the leaf sprig where it hangs down towards the left side. Adhere to the card base placing it where it’s evenly spaced towards the top of card.
Using dimensionals adhere the flower on the lower edge of the Gold Foil centering it between the first two feathers.
Evenly space the sentiment on the lower part of the card base and adhere.
Embellish the flower with three small pearls.

Measurements:

Whisper White card base 11 x 4 ¼ score at 5 ½
Gold Foil 3 7/8 x 5 1/8, Gold Foil 1 ¼ x 4 ½ (disregard this if you saved the cut pieces from card #1), Whisper White 3 ¾ x 5, Whisper White 3 ¼ x 3 ½, Whisper White scrap

Instructions:

Fold card base at score line.
Adhere the Gold Foil 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 to the card base front
Select third from the smallest die from the Stitched Nested Dies, it measures approx. 2 ½ x 1 ½. Place die 3/8 from the top and right side of the Whisper White 3 ¾ x 5 panel. Run through the Big Shot. Repeat this process by placing the die on the left side instead of the right below the previous cut.
Using Versa Mark ink, stamp the leaf sprig and sentiment below the cutouts on the lower part of panel. Heat emboss using Gold Embossing powder.
If you made Card 1 and saved your Gold Nested Foil pieces, run ‘two of them’ through the Big Shot using the Country Floral Embossing Folder. If not, select the second from the smallest die from the Stitched Nested Dies, it measures approx. 2 x 1 1/8, cut two from the 1 ¼ x 4 ½ Gold Foil, emboss both using the Country Floral Embossing Folder.
Using Versa Mark ink stamp two butterflies on the Whisper White scrap, heat emboss with Gold Embossing Powder. Die cut both butterflies using Nature’s Thoughts Dies.
Adhere the Whisper White 3 ¼ x 3 ½ to the back of the stamped panel to close the open holes. Add dimensionals to the back of the panel, center and adhere to the Gold Foil on card base.
Add dimensionals to the embossed Gold Foil cutouts, center and adhere in the blank cutouts.
Add dimensionals to the butterflies, add to card front.
Embellish with Metal Pearls trailing from the butterfly for the finishing touch.

Adhere the Gold Foil 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 to the card base front.
Using the Country Floral Embossing Folder run the Whisper White 3 ¾ x 5 through the Big Shot. Adhere to the Gold Foil card base.
Select the third die from the largest Stitched Nested die, it measures approx. 2 ¼ x 4, die cut the 2 ¼ x 4 Gold Foil. Using dimensionals adhere to the card base centered on the white embossed background.
If you made Card #1 and saved your Gold Nested Foil pieces you should have one remaining after creating Card 2. If not, select the second from the smallest die from the Stitched Nested Dies, it measures approx. 2 x 1 1/8, cut one from the 1 ¼ x 2 ¼ Gold Foil.
Select the fourth die from the largest Stitched Nested die, it measures approx. 2 x 3 ½, die cut the Whisper White 2 x 3 ½. Using the small gold foil cutout (the one you just cut or had saved), use this as a guide to stamp the two accents above and below the points of the gold foil. Stamp images using Versa Mark ink, heat emboss using Gold Embossing Powder. Center and adhere to the Gold Foil on card base.
Using dimensionals adhere the smallest Gold Foil cutout, centering between the embossed images on the Whisper White cutout.
Using Versa Mark ink, stamp butterfly on Whisper White scrap, heat emboss using Gold Embossing Powder. Use the Nature’s Thought butterfly die to cut out. Using mini dimensionals adhere butterfly to the center of the smallest Gold cutout.

Instructions:

Fold card base at score line.
Select the third largest die from Stitched Nested dies, it measures approx. 2 x 3 5/8, on the 4 ¼ x 5 ½ Whisper White place the die 3/8 from left outer edge, run through the Big Shot, repeat the same thing on the right side.
Using the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder, emboss the 4 x 5 ¼ Whisper White. Adhere the embossed panel to the back of the Whisper White double cutout panel. Adhere the combined pieces to the card base front.
Select the second to the largest die from the Stitched Nested dies, it measures approx. 2 5/8 x 4 5/8. Die cut the 2 ¾ x 4 ¾ Whisper White, also die cut the 2 ¾ x 4 ½ Gold Foil using the same die.
To cut and create a frame from the Gold Foil, select the third largest die from the Stitched Nested dies, it measures approx. 2 x 3, center it in the Gold Foil die cut and run the Big Shot. Put the frame to the side. Using the leftover cutout, select the fifth largest die from the Stitched Nested dies, it measures approx. 1 ¾ x 3 1/8, run it through the Big Shot.
Adhere the Gold Foil frame to the Whisper White die cut. Add dimensionals to the back, adhere to the center of card base exposing the embossed area’s on each side.
Add dimensionals to the back of the small Gold Foil cutout and adhere to the center of card base
Stamp two flowers and the sentiment ‘Love’ in Versa Mark ink on the 4 x 4 Whisper White, heat emboss using Gold Embossing Powder. Use the flower dies from Nature’s Thoughts Dies to cut out flowers, hand cut the word ‘Love’.
Using the smallest die from the Stitched Nested dies, it measures approx. 7/8 x 1 use the leftover Whisper White scraps to cut. Add a mini dimensional to the back of the word ‘Love’, adhere to center of the sentiment cutout.
In the bottom right corner of Gold Foil adhere one of the flowers, add dimensionals to the other and place slightly above the first flower only on the left side.
Add a dimensional to the sentiment and place it on the upper right side of the Gold Foil.
Embellish both flowers with three pearls and the sentiment with one.
