Hello Friends… It’s been awhile since my last post, and you might have thought, is she still stamping? Well, the answer is yes, I have been busy creating just lazy and not posting on my blog! To catch you up a bit, I hosted a two day stamping event featuring the You’re a Peach Suite. The Friday night kickoff began by participating stampers assembling fifteen inspiring and fun shoebox swaps. Saturday’s agenda was full of excitement creating eight fun fold/3D projects, giveaways, raffles, lunch, and of course, chocolate. It was an honor to have had attendees travel to Kansas from New York, Connecticut, Idaho, Wyoming and Canada. The weekend was filled with inspiring creativity, but most importantly, everyone shared their love of stamping in harmony and fostered new friendships.

On another note, I would like to take a moment to THANK EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU, INCLUDING MY TEAM, The Twister Sisters, for all the help and assistance you’ve provided during the last year to help in my achieving the points needed to earn Stampin’ Up’s! trip to the Western Caribbean. Please know that I’m forever grateful for your faithful patronage and teamwork. There are no words that can adequately describe my appreciation and love for each of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Now for today’s design… it’s inspiration came from this week’s Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge, CC864. Chris, our hostess this week has selected Real Red, Bermuda Bay, and Basic Black with the dessert option to incorporate a weathered look in some way. Check out Splitcoaststampers gallery HERE, I’m known as n2scrappin here!

Moving right along! Do you think these two sweethearts are as cute as I do? This design was created by my wanting to use a ‘Fall’ stamp set ‘Nuts About Squirrels’ and turn it into a Christmas card. With this thought in mind, I found the needed accessories in the stamp set Penguin Place. Surprisingly all the components were perfectly sized to interchange the Fall set into Christmas.

Supplies:

Stamp Sets:

  • Nuts About Squirrels #156475
  • Penguin Place #156410

Cardstock:

  • Basic Black #121045
  • Real Red #102482
  • Early Espresso #119686
  • Basic White #159276

Ink:

  • Early Espresso #147114
  • Bermuda Bay #147096
  • Crumb Cake #147116
  • Real Red #147084
  • White Craft Stampin’ Ink #147277

Miscellaneous:

  • Timber 3D Embossing Folder #156406
  • (Retired, used here) Bright 6 x6 Designer Series Paper #149613, (Current, and available) Bright 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper #155228
  • Foam Adhesive Strips #152815

Measurements;

Basic Black: 4 1/4 x 11, scored at 5 1/2 (Card base), 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 (behind wood panel)

Early Espresso: 3 1/4 x 4 1/2 (wood panel)

Real Red: 4 x 5 1/4 (matte next to card base), 3 3/8 x 4 5/8 (matte for wood), 5/8 x 1 1/4 (matte for sentiment)

Basic White: 3 x 4 (bow, hat, present, and squirrels), 1/2 x 1 1/8 (sentiment), 4 x 5 1/4 (inside of card)

The tree was weathered by using the Timber 3D embossing folder on Early Espresso cardstock, then lightly swiping the White Craft Stampin’ ink pad across/over the raised impressions of the cardstock. Use an exacto blade to cut a knot out of the tree to provide space for the squirrel, sponge the edge of the hole with Memento Black ink. The wood panel was popped up by using Foam Adhesive Strips.

Instructions for the mask technique: Masking was done for the squirrel holding the present. Stamp the squirrel image holding the acorn onto a piece of copy paper. Cut out only the acorn, place the acorn mask over the image on the stamp (with removable adhesive), ink the image, remove the mask, and stamp onto the 3 x 4 Basic White cardstock. Stamp the present in Real Red ink onto the 3 x 4 Basic White, hand cut and adhere in the open area left by the mask.

The finished inside was created by stamping a few presents and using left over Designer Series Paper.

I hope you have a great day and enjoy the changing season! May God Bless and keep you!

Hugs,

LeAnn
