Hello Friends… Chris is our hostess for this weeks color challenge, she has selected some beautiful colors, two of which are monochromatic, Flirty Flamingo and Terracotta Tile, she’s also added the third complimenting color, Soft Suede. The dessert option was to use ‘anything round’! It was so much fun creating with this weeks colors.
My fun design this week features the rock-n-roll stamping technique. The leaves shown here in the background were inked in Flirty Flamingo, followed by rolling the edges of the stamp image in Terracotta Tile ink. It provides a beautiful blending of two color tones in just one stamping application.
Cut a 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Very Vanilla card base, score at 4 1/4. Fold on the score line and burnish the fold.
Cut a 4 x 5 1/4 Soft Suede matte. Adhere to the card base front.
Cut a 3 5/8 x 4 7/8 Flirty Flamingo matte. Adhere to the Soft Suede matte on the card front.
Cut a 3 1/2 x 4 3/4 Very Vanilla panel. Randomly stamp the leaf image from ‘Love Of Leaves’ onto the Very Vanilla panel using Flirty Flamingo ink, then rolling the edges of the leaf in Soft Suede ink before stamping the image. Note: To avoid muddying your stamp image, clean the stamp between applications.
Cut a 1 x 3 1/2 Soft Suede strip. Emboss the strip using the ‘Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folder’. Sponge the edges including the top of the embossed area with Soft Suede ink. Adhere the strip approximately 1 3/8 from the bottom of the card front.
Cut a Terracotta Tile circle using the second from the largest circle from the die set, ‘Stitched Shapes’.
Stamp the owl image from ‘Have a Hoot’ in Early Espresso ink on a 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 Very Vanilla square. Note: The image had a spider hanging from the tree, using a post-a-note mask, the spider was covered while inking the image and removed prior to stamping the image. Use Stampin’ Blends to color the tree and owl. Cut the owl image using the third largest circle die from ‘Stitched Shapes’.
Use the die from ‘Love of Leaves’ to die cut the leaf from a 2 1/2 x 3 Soft Suede panel. Sponge the edges of the leaf in Soft Suede ink. Adhere the leaf to the left side of the Terracotta Tile circle.
Adhere the Very Vanilla circle to the Terracotta Tile circle using dimensionals. Adhere the layered circles to the card base front on the right side of the Soft Suede strip using dimensionals.
Cut a banner from a 1 3/8 x 1 5/8 Terracotta Tile rectangle using the sixth from the largest ‘Stitched Nested Label’ die.
Cut a second banner from a 1 1/8 x 1 3/8 Very Vanilla rectangle using the seventh from the largest ‘Stitched Nested Label’ die. Stamp the sentiment ‘hello’ from ‘Love of Leaves’ in Soft Suede ink. Adhere the Very Vanilla tag to the Terracotta Tile tag. Adhere the layered tags to the upper left corner of the card base front using dimensionals.
Stamp three leaves running off the bottom and right side of the inside panel. Repeat the inking method used on the card front.
