Hello Friends… It’s Friday and the weekend has arrived! I remember my working days all to well (teehee), I rejoiced every Friday to the buzzing sound of the 3:30 bell. My days of building airplanes are over and I’m thrilled to have moved on to a more fun activity such as playing in my ‘She Shed Tornado Shelter’ designing cards and sharing them with you!
Today’s card features a new stamp set ‘Tasteful Touches’. This card, in all it’s elegance would be suitable for an anniversary, wedding, or sympathy card. The emboss technique used here can easily be changed by either selecting a different embossing folder or simply changing the color combo. Nonetheless, it’s an awesome technique.
Begin with a piece of 4 1/4 x 11 Whisper White cardstock, score at 5 1/2. Fold and burnish the fold, this will create a tent fold card.
Emboss a 4 x 5 1/2 Whisper White panel using the ‘Parisian Flourish’ embossing folder. Using your paper trimmer create vertical score lines 1/2″ apart across the 4″ side of the panel, this will give your panel a wood look. The next step is a direct to paper method… lay the embossed panel on a flat surface (it doesn’t matter which side, either or both can be done), lightly swipe a Crumb Cake ink pad over the panel, followed with a Smoky Slate ink pad. The advantage of inking both sides of the panel is you have an option of which ‘look’ you like better, I’ve used the depressed side here.
In the center of the embossed panel cut an oval using the largest oval from the ‘Layering Ovals’.
In the center of 3 3/4 x 5 Whisper White panel, cut an oval using the second largest oval from the ‘Layering Ovals’. Adhere the Whisper White matte to the back of the embossed panel, this will create a 1/8″ Whisper White matte. For reference, place the matte on the card base front and mark in pencil as to where the remaining embossed oval needs to be adhered (prior to adhering the embossed frame). Adhere the embossed frame with dimensionals.
Using the remaining Whisper White oval, cut a smaller oval using the fourth from the largest oval from the ‘Layering Ovals’. Adhere to the center of the card base front, this creates a foundation for your flower to be mounted on.
Stamp the flower in Rococo Rose and color using the Stampin’ Blends Rococo Rose and Cherry Cobbler. Hand cut the flower and adhere to the center of the Whisper White oval using dimensionals.
Stamp the sentiment from ‘Tasteful Touches’ on a 1/2 x 3 1/2 Whisper White strip using Smoky Slate ink. Note: I colored the word ‘Love’ with a Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Write Marker. Both ends of the sentiment were punched using the ‘Lovely Labels Pick a Punch’. The sentiment is attached at a slant and adhered over the lower portion of the oval with dimensionals.
The ‘1 /4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon’ was colored with a combination of the Rococo Rose and Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blends, then tied into a double bow and adhered with a glue dot.
The Rhinestone Jewels were added for the finishing touch.
