Hello Friends… It’s time for Color Challenge #804, Chris’ color choices for this week are the colors Mango Melody, Misty Moonlight, and Granny Apple Green with the dessert option of using White Craft Ink. If you’ve not heard of the Black Magic Technique… it’s a super easy one to do with a phenomenal look. Check out the details below…
Here are the Instructions for the technique, ‘Black Magic’. It’s important to begin with a very dark cardstock, I’m using a 3 3/4 x 5 Basic Black panel here. For the best results when doing this technique, a stamp with a solid image is your best option. I’ve selected the chestnut leaf stamp from the stamp set ‘Love of Leaves’ and have randomly stamped it in White Craft ink all over the Basic Black panel. The little dots are from the stamp set ‘Dressed to Impress’ and used as filler between the leaves in White Craft ink as well. Allow the Craft ink to air dry or as I prefer, use a heat gun to speed up the process. Color your images in, using colored pencils. I prefer to only use Stampin’ Up products but sadly have to say Stampin’ Up only sells Watercolor pencils, so I’ve opted to use another brand to color in the leaves, (I’m thinking any brand should work). After the image is colored go back and highlight/accent the image with a Chalk Marker or gel pen, this will make your leaves ‘POP’ off the page!
The remainder of the card is super easy! Adhere a 4 x 5 1/4 Granny Apple Green matte to a folded, 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Basic Black card base. Adhere the ‘Black Magic’ panel to the card base front. Stamp the sentiment from ‘Ornate Thanks’ either in Versamark or White Craft ink onto a 7/8 x 2 1/2 Basic Black panel, heat emboss using White embossing powder. Adhere the sentiment to a 1 1/8 x 2 5/8 Granny Apple Green matte. Adhere to the lower right side of the card front using dimensionals and add a white ribbon bow. (Note: I’ve used a retired ribbon here but the 5/8″ Polka Dot Tulle ribbon would be beautiful used here.)
The inside was simply completed with a 4 x 5 1/4 Granny Apple Green matte and a 3 3/4 x 5 Whisper White panel. A chestnut leaf was stamped in the lower right corner in Misty Moonlight.
