Hello Friends… It’s a day for pretending! Since the beaches will be closing once again causing many to forfeit their holiday celebration on the sanding shoreline. It’s looking as if their only option is to imagine/dream of surfing the waves and basking in the sun this year.

I loved this weeks color challenge so much, I couldn’t resist creating another card. Should you have missed seeing my previous post, ‘Whale Kisses’, check it out, the same color combo Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point and Gorgeous Grape was used to create that card as well.

Here’s a few details about creation: I first created a hand drawn pattern for the surf board then tracing and cutting it out of Whisper White cardstock. A 1″ circle was punched (from scrap cardstock) to create a mask for the moon and adhered temporarily to the surf board prior to brayering the entire surf board in Bermuda Bay, Pacific Point, and Gorgeous Grape inks. A stencil was created by tearing the edge of a piece of cardstock and then sponging along the edge to create the sand looking background. The splatters were created by mixing Early Espresso reinker and water, then tapping a small inked up paint brush to splatter the ink over the front of the card.

The stamp set used here is Timeless Tropical. I thought stamping the palm trees in black would gave the appearance of a beautiful evening silhouette. All the images stamped here were stamped using Memento Black. The flower was cut out by using its matching die and embellished with a small amount of Shimmery Crystal Effects and a dab of glitter.
